Genix Interview Ahead Of Passion 8th November 2008

Another Passion date arises… but this time its another classics event…
can you tell us why that JFK and yourself have decided to put on this event?
Well there are normally two classics nights a year at the emporium.,.. one in January
to start the year off and one in july time… After the success of the july event we were
overwhelmed by the demand for more of the same. So we decided to squeeze an extra
one in.. and in the modern cash climate it’s difficult for people to be going out to all there
favourite clubnights and paying a lot to get in… therefore we had loads of early bird tickets
at £5 each to let people enjoy a cheaper event to come along to. We documented the july
event with some pics.. videos and even recorded JFK’s set for download… you can check

What brings people back to these night over and over again……
Well…. For me the music brings back many special memories… and im sure it does for
the clubbers…. All the best tunes from over the years all in one club on one dancefloor!
This generates a amazing atmosphere and from standing behind the decks you can see
everybody having a great time to every single track..!!

Its been a year now since you have been announced the resident DJ alongside JFK…
Can you put into a few words what its like?
Its pretty great to be honest! This year I have played alongside all the worlds leading trance
DJ’s like Armin and Tiesto…. PVD,, Ferry Corsten, Jules. I have some truly amazing times
already behind those famous decks and im really enjoying it… I have also become part of the
promotions team with JFK so im behind a lot of the running of the events too.

What will the next event be like then….. can you give us a forecast?
Well too be honest I think most of the classics events are always successful…. You know what
you are going to get….. the music builds a amazing atmosphere…. It has to be seen to be
believed… I think it has the best vibe in the country on these events that iv witnessed. Everybody
there is loving each and every track… you can see that people are just having a great time and
at the end of the day that’s what its all about… people take the clubbing scene far too serious
now… at the end of the day it’s a disco and these nights people go there to just party!

What are some of your favourite trance tunes?? And are you going to play them on November 8th?
I love a lot of the older classics… stuff like Dutch force – deadline, Café del Mar, freefall – skydive.. Hands Burn - Good Shot, there are
so many great tracks… and there are so many amazing tracks that don’t get played at these classics events… and im going to try and
pull a few out of the bag… so youl have to wait and see!!!

What else is going on in the world of Genix???
There is loads going on as always!! Have some really cool gigs coming up… Some gigs abroad and in the UK too Production wise I have
just signed some new tracks of mine over to Reset Records… and I also have stacks of remixes coming out… you can find out all about

Can you tell us a bit about Nu:Passion ???
Well nu:passion was launched over a year ago now… we are trying to give some of the masses of talent out there a chance to play. Its
very difficult for new dj’s to get gigs now and we think it’s a great opertunity for them to showcase their talents.. Some of the djs have
gone from playing in our nu passion room into the main room alongside some of the worlds finest artists…
